Please Work Together to Play Safe
With the Covid-19 virus sweeping through the world and touching our community, we have been following the news closely, looking to leaders in the attractions, entertainment and agricultural communities to see what adjustments we should make to our business. The safety of our guests and team members is always our first priority, especially now. A trip to Vala’s in 2020 is going to look different than it did in the past, but we hope you’re still able to create lasting memories with your families. Please, spread out over our 400+ acres! Enjoy the outdoors, wear masks when appropriate, be kind to your neighbor, have fun and be safe. Here are some ways we are currently trying to minimize the Covid-19 risk at Vala’s.
Masks at Vala’s
In accordance with CDC guidance, Vala’s Pumpkin Patch requires all guests ages 5-years-old and over to wear masks inside buildings, in queue lines or when social distancing is not possible. Vala’s team members will wear masks at all times. This is for the protection of our staff and our guests. Thank you for your cooperation.
Hand Sanitizer + Washing
We have added hand sanitizer dispensers AND hand washing stations across the farm, by every attraction and food location.
Cash will only be accepted at our admissions windows. All other locations will accept either credit card, debit card or gift card.
We will be limiting the number of people allowed inside a building or at an attraction at one time. Watch for our “line leaders” — staff who will assist you.
Team Member Screening
We are screening our staff before their shifts.
We have added cleaning schedules and procedures across the farm.
We will be limiting the number of guests at Vala’s to comply with government guidelines.
We Ask That You Please
Visit Vala’s only if you are feeling healthy and do not have symptoms of or a known exposure to Covid-19 within the last 14 days.
Maintain a 6-foot distance between your group and other groups of people.
Clean Your Hands
Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. Senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting Vala’s Pumpkin Patch and Apple Orchard, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
How will you limit capacity at the Pumpkin Patch?
Because of capacity limits currently mandated by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Vala’s Pumpkin Patch will be limiting attendance at all times. We anticipate this will only affect guests on our peak days, especially October weekends. We will be cutting off admission to Vala’s every day if or when we reach maximum capacity. Please arrive early, and be prepared to change plans if you are not able to enter the farm.
When will there be the least people at Vala's Pumpkin Patch?
Visiting at off-peak times means less people, traditionally weekdays in September are slowest for us. We will also be having an Apple Festival Labor Day weekend, with very limited attendance.
Who is required to wear a mask at Vala's Pumpkin Patch?
Vala’s Pumpkin Patch requires all guests ages 5-years-old and over to wear masks inside buildings, in queue lines or when social distancing is not possible. Vala’s team members will wear masks at all times. This is for the protection of our staff and our guests. Thank you for your cooperation.
Will there be guest screening?
All guests will be asked three questions when they buy or redeem admission tickets:
- Have you been in contact with anyone who has tested positive or is seeking medical attention/testing for COVID-19 related symptoms?
- Have you sought medical attention/testing for COVID-19 related symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
- Are you currently experiencing or have you experienced any of the following COVID-19 related symptoms in the last three days? If you have any of the following symptoms: fever of 100.4 degrees or greater, shortness of breath, cough, chills, sore throat, muscle pain, headache, new loss of taste or smell; or have been in contact with someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19
What if I don't feel comfortable coming to Vala's even with the safety precautions in place?
We will be offering curbside delivery on specific dates (*subject to change*):
- Sunday, September 6th
- Saturday, September 12th
- Every Tuesday, September 22nd through October 22nd
- Sunday, November 1st
All items will be pre-purchased at our ONLINE STORE and picked up in the Vala’s parking lot with very little contact.
Who should I contact with a safety concern?
While we are working hard to make our farm as health-safe as possible, please understand that not all areas of the farm can be cleaned or sanitized on a regular basis. Exposure to illnesses and diseases is a risk in any public location. By visiting, you voluntarily assume all risks.
