Internships at Vala’s Pumpkin Patch

Vala’s Pumpkin Patch & Apple Orchard offers summer and fall internships for college students who are interested in hands-on experience in the fields of Agriculture, Communications, Culinary, and Hospitality. Located in Gretna, Nebraska, Vala’s is a fall festival open to the public 45 to 55 days a year and a treasured fall tradition for many families in the surrounding communities. Vala’s is one of the largest pick-your-own pumpkin patches in the world, spanning 400+ acres and including over 50 attractions, like pick-your-own pumpkins and apples, and over 25 specialty food locations. Vala’s is also the largest apple orchard in Nebraska with over 30 acres of apple trees that are used to produce  our own sweet and hard cider on the farm. An internship at Vala’s during the fall season is a fast-paced, exciting experience that’s also very rewarding – we create happiness!

If you are interested in any of the internship opportunities available, please email your cover letter and resume expressing your interest to Brianne McDonald, HR Manager You may also view the internships and complete an application on InternNE or Handshake sites. As an intern you must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an accredited college of university in the United States and at least 18 years of age at the beginning of the internship. If you are a student taking a semester off of school and interested in an internship, please contact us. Most internships will begin in late summer and end after the Vala’s fall season in early November. You must be able to work a portion of your hours in August through October.

After you email your cover letter and resume to the Human Resources Department, your resume will be reviewed. If you meet the requirements for the internship program we will invite you to participate in a short interview with the Internship Coordinator and Department Director. Students selected for the internship program will be contacted after the interview process is complete.
